12th & 13th Stops: Perpignan, France & Rome, Italy. Roman Holiday

Flat Lily's Tour de Europe is in full swing! On February 19th we received pictures from Lily's travels with our French friend Cyril. We know Cyril from his time as an intern at Lily's school here in St. Louis. He lives in Perpignan, in the south of France, and was excited to have Flat Lily for a visit.

Cyril and Flat Lily went to the beautiful beach in Canet-En-Roussillon.

This lovely commune in the Pyrenees-Orientales region of France resides on the Mediterranean Sea.

After their time in Canet-En-Roussillon, Cyril took Lily along on a trip to Rome, Italy!

They stopped in the Piazza di Venezia in the heart of the city.

And visited the Vatican City, home of Pope Francis.

Then they saw the Piazza di Spagna, or Spanish Square.
By day...

And night...

After that it was off to the Roman Forum. The political centerpiece of the city until the fall of the Roman Empire.

Flat Lily visited the Platine Hill- the centermost of the Seven Hills of Rome.

And last, but certainly not least, they went to the Roman Colosseum, formerly known as the Flavian Amphitheater. The Colosseum was originally commissioned by Emperor Vespasian in 72 AD. His son Titus oversaw its completion in 80 AD.

What a cool trip! Thanks, Cyril, so much for showing Flat Lily around Southern France and taking her to Rome! Where will Flat Lily's next European stop be?
